Disney Fusion 5

Our family blog about Disney–Travel, Crafts, Art, and More

I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. I have now been home since the middle of March, and our state has extended the stay at home order until May 15th. This has given me the opportunity to catch up on some projects, which has been good. I think we are all getting a little tired of always being home, but we are pushing through. We know this is the right thing to do in the current climate.

When my girls were younger, they used to LOVE Perler beads. We had all sorts of things made and scattered around the house. Over time, as they got older, this was something they didn’t really care to do anymore. Since they weren’t using them, and I had found Pinterest, I started making some things for fun. I made Woody and Buzz several years ago (these are two of my husband’s favorite characters). They have been sitting in our room for some time, and I decided I wanted to give them a more permanent look.

Here are the supplies:

My daughter has been into painting lately, so I stole one of her 8×10 canvases.

Paint, paintbrushes, and the Woody and Buzz round out the initial supplies.

I struggle sometimes with adhesive, but this time I decided to use the E6000 we have in the house.

First, we painted the canvas blue:

I am NO good at painting objects, so my daughter helped with the iconic Toy Story clouds after the blue paint dried.

We knew the characters would cover the center of the canvas, so we didn’t worry about painting any clouds there.

Once the clouds were dry, I adhered the characters onto the canvas.

I think it turned out pretty cute, and we decided to hang it in my son’s Toy Story themed bedroom:

A pretty easy craft, and if you have any Perler beads laying around, a fun family activity. I got my pattern from Pinterest, but I’m sure you could Google some images as well. (Or you could copy the ones I did!)

I hope you all are finding ways to stay creative, to stay safe, and to stay healthy.

Have a magical day!
